Mixing and Mastering Postpunk, Dark Wave, New Wave, Psychedelic Pop, Alternative Pop - Melancholic Soundscapes
Korbinian is a German mixing and mastering engineer / music producer who loves to work in darker and reverb-heavy genres like postpunk, new wave, psychedelic or synth-pop.
Growing up listening to bands like Nirvana, Radiohead, Joy Division, A Place to Bury Strangers etc., Korbinian developed a deeper understanding of music early on. Particularly music that lives from melancholy, beautiful sadness or inner darkness and thereby has a very special profoundness, is where he feels most at home.
With more than ten years of experience in the audio industry as a freelance music producer, as an audio engineer at the Munich radio station PULS and as member of various bands, Korbinian is known for his fast work, while maintaining focus on the details. He is especially known for always meeting the clients genre-specific taste.
Korbinian occasionally works as a front of house mixing engineer in venues reaching from small clubs up to big festival stages like Lollapalooza, Berlin - these experiences have further developed his ability to make quick and accurate decisions in the mixing process.
About 14 years after recording and producing his first demo in a rehearsal room, Korbinian is now mixing and mastering with a carefully-chosen combination of analog and digital equipment that has proven its worth over the years. Mixing through a fully analog chain, consisting of a Rupert Neve Designs analog summing mixer into a Pultec-style eq and SSL-style bus compression, Korbinian is adept at turning even low-quality self-recorded tracks into radio-ready master files.
Naturally, collaborating with other mixing or mastering engineers is always welcome. Being a musician himself, Korbinian is aware of the low-budget problems of independent artists. He gladly shares tips for DIY recording and offers to handle both, mixing and mastering, in order to save budget.
